Reflections of the capitol

Reflections of the Capitol

Piece description from the artist

This is the US Capitol, seen across the pond framing the building from the mall on a cold bright morning before the sun rose. No clouds that day and so the sky was just a gradient of color from red to blue and the building was cool against those warm colors. The surface of the water let down the scene with vague cold ripples and so I took an artist's license to recreate the scene with a special software that creates a reflection. I thought this looked much better!

About Steven Heap

Morgantown, WV

Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
