Piece description from the artist
Acrylic on prepared MDF board
I have done many things. I did certain things because our society says we do. We are who we are based on our productivity and submission. I served in the United States Navy and was based in Japan making this my home until receiving my honorable discharge. Upon returning to the U.S. I immediately started driving semi trucks cross-country and continued this for the next 17 years. I have owned a small trucking company, a nightclub, and a commercial crab boat. These three major endeavors were very mentally and physically taxing and I decided to close that particular chapter in the so-called American Dream. Funny. . . I had always wanted to be an artist. Two times I put off art school to hit the work force, scratch a living and pay taxes. Oh and be happy. I met my wonderful wife in 2005, married for the first time in '06 and started "creating" in '07. I picked up my first paint brush in '08 and haven't looked back. Except for art classes in high school. . . I am self-taught.
I create like a child learns. . . a big 'ol sponge absorbing everything. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your visual tour of the final and most exciting chapter of this man's life.
