Veldman's practice is about creating images and safe spaces to cope with anxiety. The interior spaces series captures the comforts of domestic life in imaginary worlds. In the piece "Reading II," a young couple relaxes on their couch.
This piece is a mixed media painting with acrylic, fabric, buttons, and cotton on canvas board. This artwork will be shipped without a frame or hanging hardware.
Veldman has her Bachelor of Fine Art in Illustration from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and her Master of Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Her work has been featured in collections and catalogs through Saatchi Art and is a current member of the Los Angeles Art Association.
