Piece description from the artist
This landscape black and white photograph showcases a stunning, mature elm tree standing proudly in the center of an open field on a hill at Springfield Lake Park in Springfield, Missouri, USA. Captured on a quiet spring evening, the calm atmosphere and soft natural light accentuate the tree’s expansive canopy and richly textured trunk, giving it a strong yet graceful presence.
While the exact species is unknown, the tree belongs to the Ulmaceae family within the Ulmus genus. Because elm trees are often vulnerable to Dutch elm disease, encountering such a large, healthy specimen is especially meaningful. The scene captures a serene moment in nature, celebrating the resilience, strength, and enduring beauty of this remarkable tree.
