Pronghorn Family On A Hill Utah

A family of five pronghorn stands alert atop a grassy hill along Old Cisco Highway near Cisco and Thompson Springs, Utah. Often called antelope, pronghorn are actually unique animals found only in North America and are not true antelope. They are renowned for their incredible speed and are considered the fastest land mammals in the Western Hemisphere, capable of reaching speeds of up to 55 miles per hour. Their large eyes provide exceptional vision, allowing them to spot predators from great distances across the open plains and desert grasslands they call home.
