Process I (Gold) is a piece I created using a process of many layers. I first lay the canvas flat pouring water onto the canvas, then I drip bits of ink on the canvas. After repeating this process up to 5 times I then start adding layers of alternative materials- interference colors of pearlescent hues and a acrylic based pigment made from the mica rock. The result is a flowing abstracted image perfect for any space.
Sydney Daniel is an Atlanta based artist and graduate of Georgia State University with a BFA in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking. When she isn’t painting you can find her curating art exhibitions and dabbling in art consultation. Her paintings consist primarily of process based mixed media works made up of multiple layers and materials. Sydney is specifically interested in the formal qualities of painting overriding the representational. Through a method of staining and layers of texture, her paintings become a patchwork of different applications.
