Prismatic Coils II

Piece description from the artist

On a trip to his favorite architectural salvage shop, Brandon Woods discovered coils and springs intertwined in a spiraling, swirling industrial vortex. These purpose-driven objects, designed to compress and expand, are imbued with a sense of kinetic potential, as if still buzzing with the force and motion they once embodied. By photographing them through a prism, Woods complemented their energy with dynamic color, inviting viewers to see beyond the mechanical utility of these components. Here, the coils are celebrated not only for their functional design but also for their aesthetic and symbolic qualities—embodying the dynamic interplay between form, function, and the vibrant world created through industry and technology.
