Port city

Port City

Piece description from the artist

From a pile of rocks to city. In a town like this, traffic is different. Sure there are cars lined up for miles, and people bustling through the streets to go to their favorite restaurant or brewery, but the water is a significant hub as well. From small sailboats, to yachts, to steamships, a port city has a whole different kind of history and energy.

About Senta Lauren

Grand Forks, ND

Senta was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has previously resided in Virginia and Alabama. With her husband and three young children, she now calls Grand Forks, North Dakota home. While nothing is off-limits, she primarily draws artistic inspiration from the bold ways humans create with God-given resources.
She started painting for the first time in December of 2020 after spending many pandemic hours coloring with her children and discovering a passion for art. Her desired medium is acrylic on canvas, and she prefers to paint in an impressionist style to capture the flow and energy of the subjects. She is a self-taught artist with a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of North Dakota. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate from Strategic Leadership at Liberty University. She is also an Officer in the Air Force Reserves and paints with her youngest at home.
