Piece description from the artist
A composite portrait, from original photography and graphic layers, of the sun's plasma. There's a cellular and solar crossover as plasma is both astronomical and biological, although in different forms. This piece is also an extension of the specimens series: The subject of the central photo is a sycamore seed pod, the texture of which strikingly resemble the granular surface of the sun. There's a combination of viewpoints and methods, including 'stereopticon' here to give the impression of a plasmoid or "coherent, magnetic-field-constrained blobs of solar plasma."
