I'm an avid wave watcher. I prefer a sunny day with light wind but I've been known to watch waves crash during a hot mess of a storm. For this painting, however, I got my sunny day. There was a series of these small waves approaching the shore, each one crashing in on itself. This went on for the entire hour I sat watching them. Each set of waves looked like tiny dancers and 'Pirouette" seemed like an appropriate title.
