Ozarks Grand Canyon

Piece description from the artist

This vertical photograph highlights a dramatic overlook at Grand Gulf State Park near Thayer, Missouri, showcasing the vast canyon during the brilliant autumn season. Known as the “Little Grand Canyon of the Ozarks,” this natural wonder features sheer 130-foot cliffs and a canyon stretching nearly three-quarters of a mile. From this perspective, the depth and scale of the gorge are striking, framed by colorful fall foliage. Trails along the rim and canyon floor lead to the impressive natural bridge, which spans 250 feet with a 75-foot-high opening. For those seeking to reach the bottom, the descent is steep and challenging but offers a unique view of one of Missouri’s most spectacular landscapes.
