Piece description from the artist
The Owl's Head Lighthouse in Owl's Head, Maine. When Samuel de Champlain explored Owl's Head in 1605, the Abenaki Indians called it Bedabedec Point, meaning "Cape of the Winds."
Kevin Smith’s work reflects his love of nature, the Adirondack region of New York State, and New England. Although Kevin once lived in the Adirondacks, he ultimately made his home along the coast of Maine. He now finds his inspiration not only in the remotest areas of the Adirondack Park, but also in the beauty found along the east coast. A self-taught artist, he uses a pouring and blending technique.
Since 1998, Kevin’s work has been featured in many prestigious shows throughout the region New England. His landscapes are vibrant, imaginative, and graphic.
