Opposite Sides Painterly

Piece description from the artist

I photographed these two male Blue Jay's on the bird feeder on a cold snowy winter day. I took this in Ozark Missouri, United States then turned it into a digital painting to create a mixed media art piece. A blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is a bird in the family Corvidae. They are native to North America and a resident through most of eastern and central United States. They eat nuts and seeds like fruits, acorns, and sometimes small vertebrates. They typically get their food from trees, shrubs, and the ground, though they sometimes catch insects in the air. They are known to hide nuts to eat later. For bedding, they build an open cup nest in trees. Both male and female participate in making. Their eggs are blueish or light brown with brown spots. The young may remain with their parents for one to two months.

They get their name from their loud and noisy song and are sometimes called a "jaybird".

This wildlife photo was taken by Jennifer White with Timeless Moments Photography and turned into a digital painting.
