Water and rain is a big theme in my work. I was raised in Central Texas, where water always has been and remains today in short supply.
To me, these sparkling little drops of rain represent freshness, renewal, and life. The title refers to the long cycle raindrops make from the sky to the watershed and back again.
Keith Dotson is passionate about black and white photography. While some have called his work thought provoking, his goal is to make photographs that provoke emotions, seeking to capture the essence of a subject as much as it's appearance.
Dotson’s work has been shown in art galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Minneapolis, Wisconsin, Toronto, Nashville, and Knoxville.
His photographs have appeared in major national television commercials, and TV programs such as "Grey's Anatomy" and "Melissa and Joey".
Dotson has taught art and design on the adjunct faculty at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas and Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. He currently resides in the Nashville area, where he finds beauty in all four seasons.
