Old 480 between mountains and the Animus River

Piece description from the artist

Number 480 is a 2-8-2 Mikado-type steam engine, K-36 class, built in 1925 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad.
It originally hauled freight and passengers, but has been preserved to take visitors through some of the most scenic areas of the old west, along the Animus River, or River of Lost Souls from Durango, Co, to the old silver mining town of Silverton, Co.
Here, it's following the Animus River below snow-capped mountains.

About Brett Cook

Tucson, AZ

Brett grew up in the Pacific Northwest and spent his free time hiking, back-packing and caving during time off from his job as an electrical engineer.
This gave him an opportunity to explore and experience the undeveloped beauty of the wilderness, both above and under the ground.
Brett carried a small point and shoot camera in his pack to capture the raw beauty of the areas he visited and shared those images with others. He sharing sharing images that helped others appreciate the natural world and feel a sense of awe.
Beauty comes in many forms, from the lush, glacier-carved valleys of the Pacific Northwest, to the scrub-thorn ruggedness of the Southwest. Each has its unique character and attraction.
