Michael Meng Zhu was born and raised in shanghai China and now lives in Marietta, GA. His interest in art developed at his young age, strongly influenced by his uncle, Shiji Zhu, a well-know professional painter and art educator. He was enrolled into Shanghai Tongji Unniversty to study fine art/architecture major. With nine years work experience after graduated from the university, he taught both class of fine art and design in Shanghai Jiaotong University. Michael was invited to teach in design studio as visiting professor by Nottingham Trent University in1991-1992. He move to United States in 1993 to study for MFA program in Savanna College of Art and Design.
After several years worked in architectural design firms, He and Chris Powers have established Architecture 3D visualization company called Max Wave Media Inc to provide 3D animations and renderings nationwide since 2004. Meanwhile, he remained active in local art communities. He approaches his artwork much as he does his architecture, striving to create art and design that is both beautiful and simple by identifying and emphasizing the key elements.
