What an incredible sight, the Northern Lights glowing over Monument Valley in Arizona! During our photo trip through Utah and Arizona, the historic solar flare in May 2024 allowed much of the United States to witness the aurora borealis. I was exhausted after nine days of hiking and shooting landscapes, but I stayed up in hopes of capturing this once-in-a-lifetime moment. I worried we might miss it, but to my surprise, the camera revealed the aurora even more brilliantly than what we could see with our own eyes.
The iconic East and West Mitten Buttes, along with Merrick Butte, stand beneath the shimmering aurora, with stars twinkling through the colorful glow. This natural scene, was a breathtaking and unforgettable night in Monument Valley.
