Piece description from the artist
This abandoned car was found rusting away in the New York night air. Originals feature sublimation dye infused on recycled aircraft aluminum, UV high gloss coated. Limited edition #1 of 50 signed and certificated. These photos are permanently embedded in the aluminum and will not fade or deteriorate with age. They are also on an easy to hang float mount which does not need framing and creates a nice drop shadow on the wall behind it for a dramatic look. Easily cleaned with an LCD screen cleaner or soft cloth and windex. Looks great in a living room but is also durable enough for an bathroom, kitchen, or enclosed patio. Direct and long periods of hot sunlight should be avoided as to not compromise the mounting system.
A.D. Wheeler is a self-taught photographer who loves to push boundaries with his camera and his post-processing techniques. Andrew focuses primarily on landscape and what he coins, “abandonscape,” fine art photography. His term, “Abandonscape,” refers to the art of photographing abandoned buildings and sites of ruin and decay.
In 2012 Andrew's photo "Spinning Fire" won in the settings category for the Ron Howard and Canon Imaging's Project Imaginat10n. Andrew was also featured as a "Rising Star" on National PBS that syndicated across the US.
During the fair weather month's Andrew tours up and down the east coast with his multi-award winning "Abandonscape" prints on metal at various art shows and festivals.
