Piece description from the artist
A twilight night long exposure looking down the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States. Flowing streams of headlights and taillights form luminous trails as traffic moves along Interstate 55 and U.S. Highway 74. The bridge crosses over the Mississippi River, linking Missouri with East Cape Girardeau, Illinois, on the opposite shore. Completed in 2004, the structure replaced the original 1929 Cape Girardeau Bridge and honors Bill Emerson, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 until his death in 1996. This iconic crossing also gained cinematic recognition with its appearance in the 2014 film Gone Girl.
