Piece description from the artist
This is the first painting in my new series of works dedicated to the cities of the world. A special feature of the series is the combination of bright colors and bold dark tones. In addition, all the paintings in this series are made using a special modern technique. One thing remained unchanged – I used natural oil and canvas.
As for this particular canvas, it depicts New York at night and its lights. Let's call it neon. The painting is made in accordance with the modern art style. The canvas is filled with my emotions and impressions. Literally every stroke conveys a charge of energy. Great energy like New York itself.
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favorite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso. The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.
