Navajo Bridge View Over Colorado

Standing in the middle of the historic Navajo Bridge, I captured this beautiful view looking down over the Colorado River and through Marble Canyon toward the newer Navajo Bridge near Page, Arizona. The massive steel arch frames the rugged desert landscape while showcasing nearly a century of engineering and history.

The Colorado River cuts through the towering sandstone canyon walls, nearly 467 feet beneath the bridge. Warm morning sunlight brings out the rich reds and oranges of the canyon, contrasting beautifully with the blue sky and scattered clouds. In the distance to the right, you can also see a peak of Vermilion Cliffs National Monument.

The original bridge (the one I'm standing on) opened in 1929 and now serves as a pedestrian walkway, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the spectacular views once enjoyed by passing motorists. The bridge in the photo, completed in 1995, continues to carry traffic.
