For a short period in the winter of 2016 I was fantasizing about warm eclectic interior spaces that I wanted to visit or to live in. Many with elements of the past but also new elements of whimsey and modernism. My rabbit is featured in few drawings from this series. Her name is Panda.
Martyna Alexander is an artist based in Detroit. Originally, a designer working in corporate settings for over 10 years, she found her way to art through burn-out and a rejection of the rule-obsessed profession, while inherently using her design tools to create new non-practical works. Often comparing the strange harmony of the strict and systematic to the expressive, organic, and spontaneous – oppositions that mirror the many tensions of her interests and modern life.
