Mountain Fog by Rachel Farmer

Piece description from the artist

Pioneering from Southwest Virginia, where the Blue Ridge Mountains meet the endless sky, Rachel was raised on her family's farm surrounded by lush oaks, evergreen pines, and grass as far as the eye can see. The smell of the earth, colors of the land, and the intricate designs of nature first drove Rachel to sketch out on the land with colored pencils and a pad of paper. She noticed the curves of the leaves, the lines of the grass, down to the intricate details of cellulose cells and the bubbles brimming to the surface at the creek bed. Graduating with an art history degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Rachel is now the Chief Operating Officer at John Beard Fine Art Corp. Her rich visual history collides with her artist talent, to create a riveting, amorphic, amoebic, and organic contribution to John Beard's Aqueous Collection, 2023.

About John Beard

St Augustine, FL

For many years of John's life he worked traveling around the world trying to help the world become a better place. Feeding the hungry, providing medical attention, warm clothes, and an inspirational message to children in over 35 nations. His past and present catalyze on canvas to create something much more than an image hanging on a wall. Daily, John continues to try to help make the world a better place, but now he does it through art. Each work takes on a life of its own, breathing life into the constant shapes, colors and ideas flowing through his mind; expressing something words cannot.
