The beautiful natural landscape that can be found in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area are some of the mostly simply beautiful locations that I've been able to photograph. On an early morning, I captured this image of the Salmon River winding through the Sawtooth Valley. The amazing warm colors in the sky and the grasses of the meadow are a color palette that is so rare and unique that only nature could create it. I like to think about how those particular colors are only there for a fleeting moment, as the changing light of the rising sun alters them and this exact moment will never repeat.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
