Piece description from the artist
A group of kayakers in colorful boats drift along the towering orange sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon on Lake Powell in Page, Arizona, United States, during the spring season. This waterway section of the iconic Antelope Canyon reveals breathtaking narrow passageways accessible only by boat or kayak. Lake Powell, formed by the flooding of Glen Canyon after the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam, also led to the 1972 establishment of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, a popular public land destination managed by the National Park Service. At full pool, the lake’s surface covers an impressive 161,000 acres.
