Ogden, UT

Nancy Ness, an artist known for her evocative abstract work, was born in Jamaica, New York, and grew up in Westbury. Captivated by art from a young age, she pursued her passion through high school. After studying at both the University of Minnesota and Pratt, she graduated with aBFA in Communication Arts.
Nancy’s career journey may have taken a pragmatic turn into graphic design, where she thrivedas an art director for high-profile corporations like Jaguar, AAA, and IBM. Despite herprofessional success, her love for fine art never waned. Her creative process is a dance between control and chance, orchestrating what she describes as “controlled happy accidents”on the canvas. This approach marries academic technique with organic creativity.
Nancy Ness aligns herself with several esteemed organizations, including the Pastel Society ofAmerica and American Women Artists, among others. Her talents have been showcased multiple times at the National Arts Club in NYC, and her pastels featured notably in the PSWC magazine and the Pastel Journal Magazine.
Those who encounter her pieces are invariably drawn to her masterful use of color and abstraction. She now resides in Utah..
With an eye firmly set on broadening her reach and impact, Nancy Ness continues to push boundaries, driven by a profound dialogue between instinct and design. When not submerged in the art world, Nancy finds solace in her love for biking, sailing and skiing.
