Piece description from the artist
This tranquil springtime scene highlights the graceful wooden moon bridge and its steps rising gently through the Japanese Garden at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, part of the Springfield Botanical Gardens in Springfield, Missouri, USA. The softly arched bridge invites visitors to climb upward and take in the peaceful beauty of this carefully designed garden space.
Fresh spring foliage surrounds the scene as trees and shrubs begin to fill with vibrant greens and soft seasonal colors. A partly cloudy sky above adds depth and gentle light to the landscape. Along the water’s edge, a Japanese-style concrete statue stands, complementing the tranquil atmosphere of the garden. This artwork began as a photograph I captured and then transformed into a textured watercolor-style painting, giving the scene a soft, painterly quality that enhances the calm and charm of this Japanese-inspired setting.
