Monsoon essence

Monsoon Essence

Piece description from the artist

I have pointed my camera skyward for decades, always seeking some startling revelation of light and form. There are many examples that embody a satisfying observation and composition. Yet when it comes to describing a quintessential sense of the overwhelming beauty of the sky, this composition is probably my favorite. During monsoon season on the western fringes of Albuquerque, New Mexico, this thunderhead was rising in unlikely symmetry against the clear sky. The form spoke to me in indefinable ways that set me at ease and invigorated me all at once.
