Piece description from the artist

Mischief is an older drawing, saved from my days at MIT. I was experimenting with different ways to blend charcoal and to shade to create different illusions of shallow depth and texture in the drawing. I see a playful monstah of some sort – an imaginary creature – rising up from the textural experiment. It holds a blank drawing surface within the drawing, mischievously mirroring the artist and inviting the viewer to create.
