This portrait is of my sister Michelle during her first pregnancy. She is a wonderful person, who is humble and also a great mom. She now has 4 children. However, this portrait is a snapshot in time of a woman during her first pregnancy who is physically pained about her first child still developing within herself, which is a physical, mental, and spiritual journey.
Rachel Goede is from Omaha, Nebraska, where she started drawing with pens when she was only one year old.
During high school, she started to paint and went to study in Italy as an exchange student. When Rachel came back to the United States, she attended Arizona State University, where she graduated with a degree in Italian and painting in 2008. Today, Rachel is a full-time mom, a full-time marketer, a full-time artist, and a part-time day-dreamer.
She currently works as a gallery attendant in Scottsdale, Arizona where she can be surrounded by art on a daily basis.
