I had my sister pose for me with her long blond hair and glass of wine. She looks a lot like me so this is almost a self portrait of me surrounded by the sea, birds, boats – all the things that I love.
Beth Haizlip calls herself a “happy colorful expressionist artist”. She uses bold colorful strokes that makes the painting more interesting and not like you are a viewing a photograph. She is motivated by the ocean, nature and music.
Beth has done many jazz and festival posters in her career. She is recently creating some very large paintings for Nemours Children Hospital in Jacksonville and painting murals to beautify the city. “It is wonderful that my paintings can make people smile and feel better about themselves. I love a challenge and painting big!“
