Marsh morning

Marsh Morning

Piece description from the artist

In a coastal color palette of turquoise and gold, this stylized marsh painting uses a graphic approach to create movement through the composition, with the receding fingers of land. But the repeating horizontals add a sense of peace and harmony, which is what I feel when I look at the meeting of the land and still water.

About Kari Feuer

Leland, NC

Kari Feuer has been painting landscapes for about twenty-five years and continues to explore different ways to portray the play of light on the earth, the shifting weather and the movement of water. She paints both representationally and abstractly, with knives and large brushes, and bases her paintings on observation of nature, paired with imagination and inventive color.
She grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and lived for many years in New York’s Hudson Valley, and living now in North Carolina, is inspired by the skies and water. She has been teaching painting in several venues and her work has been shown in many galleries in the Northeast, collected on three continents and received national recognition.
