Marathon milky way

Marathon Milky Way

Piece description from the artist

The skies are incredible in West Texas. This was taken just outside of Marathon TX and the orange glow to the right is from the fog starting to roll in. As I was taking this one, I started to hear some crazy animal noises and we got out of there quickly.

About Tracy Costello

Kyle, TX

A native of Las Vegas (but now calls Austin home), Tracy began honing her skills in a series of classes in 2013. If she had to describe her style, ‘up close and personal’ sums it up – she wants the viewer to connect with the subject – to “get” what her subject is feeling at that moment. While portraits were her original passion, she developed a love for macro. Except for roaches and mosquitoes, she now actively searches for bugs and weeds; something she never thought she would do. She wants to show you that everything has beauty if you can simply stop and take in what makes it unique.

Her photos have garnered recognition from an array of outlets, including Nat Geo Your Shot (Daily Dozen feature), Instagram, photo.net, and YouPic, and she has also contributed to Austin Way Magazine. In March 2018, she was invited to contribute and display her work in 11 Women Photographers at The Grackle Art Gallery in Fort Worth; in July 2018, she was invited to contribute and display her work in Portraits: Masked/Unmasked curated by Barbara Koerble at The Fort Worth Community Arts Center; and in January 2019, she was invited to contribute and display her work in the 2019 People’s Gallery Exhibition at Austin City Hall.
