Piece description from the artist
This is a commission painting I did for Nemours Children's Hospital in Jacksonville. It is very popular and makes a nice canvas giclee. I like putting figures and having action in my paintings. I had my husband pose for me on his paddle board. In Florida, we have manatee come right up to our dock. They are huge, friendly and will stick around for a long time if you spray them with water. They are protected with slow speed zones and laws. It is working because we get more and more each year.
Beth Haizlip calls herself a “happy colorful expressionist artist”. She uses bold colorful strokes that makes the painting more interesting and not like you are a viewing a photograph. She is motivated by the ocean, nature and music.
Beth has done many jazz and festival posters in her career. She is recently creating some very large paintings for Nemours Children Hospital in Jacksonville and painting murals to beautify the city. “It is wonderful that my paintings can make people smile and feel better about themselves. I love a challenge and painting big!“
