I love to capture quiet moments in the American countryside. This photograph captures the quiet, enduring spirit of a weathered white farmhouse nestled among a thicket of mature trees in the South Dakota countryside. Set against a soft, pale sky at twilight, the home stands as a solitary monument to rural life, its peeling paint and dark windows hinting at decades of history and untold stories. In the foreground, a vast field of dark, textured foliage and wildflowers creates a grounding sense of depth, leading the eye toward the structure's simple, honest architecture. Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
