Lingering Light is a meditation on transformation, possibility, and the boundless nature of existence. Inspired by the changing light at sunset, it interweaves geometric forms with symbolic references to Buddhism, astrophysics, microbiology, and space-time theory. These layered forms and colors explore how we shape and interpret reality through scientific, spiritual, and creative perspectives.
Mixed media, collage elements, and gold leaf are woven together to create depth and luminosity. The composition subtly incorporates the number three, symbolizing success, creativity, passion, intuition, and good fortune.
At its core, Lingering Light speaks to freedom, self-trust, and the power of consciously choosing one's path. It invites the viewer to experience life not merely as a journey, but as an ever-unfolding act of creation.
The art of Cynthia Ligeros incorporates impressionist elements that reveal an inner landscape to the viewer, an image at once familiar and transcendent. She seeks to explore our place in a world that we have created, yet one which also creates us.
Her paintings often begin with a single driving emotion. From that, an image develops, inspired by the colors, cycles and feelings of the environment.
Sunsets, moonscapes, flowers, the changing seasons — all of these are sources of inspiration, adding richness and layers of complexity to her paintings.

Her artwork was recently acquired by Colorado Creative Industries for the newly remodeled Ketchum Arts and Sciences Building at CU Boulder.
