Piece description from the artist
A single blade of grass catches the light like a quiet beam—clean, radiant, and full of presence. “Lightline” invites the viewer to pause in the stillness of nature, where structure and softness live in harmony. The gentle depth and tonal greens create a visual breath—perfect for calming, restorative spaces in both homes and healthcare environments.
Jerred Zegelis was a public high school teacher for almost 20 years before becoming a full-time artist, using a camera as his primary means of expression. Zegelis infuses his love of the natural world into his photography, specifically thinking of the ways local artists interact with the world around them. He does not focus on mountains or oceans, large cities and tropical paradises and instead turns his lens toward the common dirt roads, prairies and open skies of the midwest. He has worked on many large-scale photography projects with another healthcare photographer, and making high-resolution imagery is his primary focus now for large spaces.
