While driving north of Bishop California, I noticed a quickly-changing display of lenticular clouds to the east over the White Mountains of neighboring Nevada. These types of clouds form when moist air in the troposphere encounters obstacles such as mountains which form eddies.
For the first four years of his life, before his family decided to make a home in Florida, Montgomery Gilchrist was raised on a sailboat off the coast Central and South America. As an adult, he taught English in Tokyo for two years then subsequently settled in Manhattan. He is a world traveler and maintains a passionate interest in the ways different people live.
