Lake Powell Side Of Glen Canyon Dam

Piece description from the artist

A Lake Powell view of Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona on a peaceful evening. I was standing along one of the red rock cliffs as the sunlight was giving a warm glow to the desert landscape and casting shadows over the terrain while highlighting the iconic landmark. The massive concrete arch-gravity dam rises 710 feet above the Colorado River on the other side. Lake Powell is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States. It was created by the flooding of Glen Canyon by the dam, which also led to the 1972 creation of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, a popular summer destination of public land managed by the National Park Service. The surface area at full pool is 161,000 acres.
