As I stood beneath the shade of a desert tree, I couldn't help but pause and take in the incredible view looking towards Lake Powell in Page, Arizona. I captured this unique black and white photograph from an overlook area at Lake Powell Resort within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area,. A sidewalk leads your eyes to where a concrete picnic area invites visitors to sit, relax, and soak in the breathtaking desert landscape. The sunlight filtering through the leaves created the perfect natural frame and sun star, drawing my eye toward the waters of Lake Powell and the towering red sandstone buttes, mesas, and cliffs rising in the distance. It's one of those places that encourages you to slow down, enjoy the quiet beauty of the American Southwest, and appreciate the remarkable scenery that makes it one of the region's most memorable travel destinations.
