La Sal Mountains After Sunset

Piece description from the artist

Soft twilight settles over the desert as the La Sal Mountains rise in the distance beyond Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. A lingering glow from the setting sun casts gentle hues across the sky while snow remains on the rugged mountain peaks, standing in contrast to the warm red rock formations below. Light haze in the valley adds depth and atmosphere, highlighting the dramatic transition from desert terrain to alpine elevations.

The La Sal Mountains, the highest range in eastern Utah, provide a stunning natural backdrop to the Moab area and are a defining feature of this iconic Southwest landscape. This rare meeting of snow-capped mountains and red rock desert showcases the diverse beauty that makes Arches National Park and the surrounding region a favorite destination for landscape photography and outdoor exploration.
