This painting shows the La Jument lighthouse during rough sea weather. A large wave crashes into the tower, surrounded by swirling blue water and wind. The red top stands out against the deep ocean tones, while thick brushstrokes give the scene movement and texture. It captures the moment when the sea is wild, but the lighthouse stays steady. Canvas, oil, varnished, signed.
Painting has been my passion since childhood. Among many different techniques oil painting is my favorite.
Themes of my paintings are as variegated as our world: cities, people, life, animals, dramatic art, nature. I am greatly influenced by such famous artists like Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Isaac Levitan, Auguste Renoir. My work was strongly influenced by Picasso. The painting Girl on the Ball made a big impression on me in my childhood.
