Kanarra Falls Cascading In The Glow Grayscale

This black and white long exposure photograph captures the beauty of Kanarra Falls as crystal-clear water cascades beside a metal staircase inside the narrow sandstone walls of the slot canyon in Kanarraville, Utah. Photographed during the spring season, the chilly creek, fed by fresh mountain runoff, flows over the glowing rocks, while the long exposure transforms the rushing water into a smooth, silky ribbon.

As I stood in the cool water, the afternoon sunlight filtered into the canyon, illuminating the towering sandstone walls. The contrast between the glowing rock and the soft white waterfall created a scene that was even more beautiful in person than I had imagined.

Reaching this waterfall is part of the adventure. The popular four-mile round-trip Kanarra Falls Trail follows Spring Creek through the canyon, requiring hikers to wade through cold water and carefully navigate rocky sections along the way. The metal staircase beside the falls has become one of the trail's signature features, helping visitors climb safely while adding to the unique character of one of Utah's most memorable slot canyon hikes.
