Piece description from the artist
The nine foot tall statue of Thomas Jefferson, designed by Karl Bitter, sits in the loggia of the Beaux Arts limestone building of the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park.
Growing up in Denver, Elizabeth Moore, the oldest of twelve and a twin, began painting and taking photos while in high school. Hiking in the mountains, helping her grandmother in her lovely rose gardens and playing violin in the Golden Symphony Orchestra created a foundation for future artistic work.
Now living in St. Louis, she is a professional fine art photographer and artist.
In 2014, she was honored to have a solo photography exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden, as part of the stl250 celebration. Her photo of “Sledding on Art Hill” was featured at the Sheldon Art Galleries and in the book, “The City at 250”, a Celebration of St. Louis in Photographs.”
Her impressionistic paintings have been featured in a number of local and national juried exhibitions at galleries including: Des Peres Hospital, Missouri Athletic Club, Webster Arts Center, Art St. Louis, and the St. Louis Artists Guild.
