Piece description from the artist
The marshes of Ipswich, Massachusetts are a huge beautiful place. They are near Crane's Beach a long beach perfect for walking. The marshes create a fantastic landscape that invites the visitor to open the mind and spirits. The light changes the way the landscape looks at different times of the day. The greens, blues and browns are infinite, a challenge to any artist.
Ricardo Maldonado loves painting and experimenting with color. He preferes natural outdoor subjects, as the light and colors change often with the seasons and the time of the day. Those changes, subtle or abrupt, are always challenging him. For Ricardo, painting is a passion and a discipline. Painting taught him to see things in a different way, observing every detail more carefully and more consciously, and ultimately appreciating more deeply all that surrounds him.
Ricardo's paintings are often very colorful and create a very lively atmosphere for the viewer. Sometimes strong and colorful contrasts enhance the difference between light and shadows and brings up beautiful effects not seen often.
