Inside Of Narrows Covered Bridge

Piece description from the artist

Interior View of Narrows Covered Bridge in Turkey Run State Park, Indiana.

This photograph offers a unique inside view of the historic Narrows Covered Bridge, which spans Sugar Creek in Turkey Run State Park, Indiana. Built in 1882, the bridge features a charming wooden interior with the lower half of the walls painted white and beautifully crafted support beams designed to form an arch-like structure. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978, this bridge replaced earlier versions dating back to 1840—the original was destroyed in 1847, and its successor in 1875. The craftsmanship of this third bridge remains a testament to 19th-century engineering and design.
