As the title suggests, much of what I create is what I consider to be improvisational. I have spent many years exploring improvisation through various mediums including stand-up puppetry and jazz guitar. The rich experience of creating a dialogue or a series of notes is exhilarating and that is what I try to achieve in my painting through the paint and the forms.
Don’s work is a crossover between pure abstraction and references to the natural world. Color and texture are key elements in his work. His effort is to play with chaos and create balance through layers of transparent color and hue.
