Piece description from the artist
This piece started out as a loose sheet of canvas placed on my work surface, to catch any errant brushstrokes of paint while working on other pieces, including 3d assemblages
I also used the canvas to wipe brushes clean of remaining paint, rather than just washing it down the drain
The gradual layering of different colors and types of marks resulted in a finished piece
I usually like to work on multiple pieces at once
Mike Lenkowski is a visual artist living and working in Chicago. He has worked in various media such as reverse acrylic on plexiglass, acrylic on canvas, Plastic Prismatic Boxes, and 3D Assemblages. Mike graduated in 2007 from Avondale College with a Degree in Fine Art. His work can be found in private collections in the US and abroad, as well as in Art*o*mat machines nationwide.
