Every morning, I walked past these houseboats in Amsterdam and watched whole lives unfold in silhouettes — someone brewing coffee, a child pressing a hand to the window, a plant reaching toward the glass. Each one was a slim slice of space floating on the canal, yet somehow it held everything that mattered and nothing that didn't. The more I compared their quiet, edited lives to my own rooms stuffed with forgotten things, the louder the question became: what if less could finally feel like more? Standing there on the bank, it wasn't just the boats I envied, but the calm that seemed to come from choosing every object, every moment, with intention.
