In my quest to make images of enchanting sunrises at Blowing Rocks, I crossed paths with a charismatic Little Blue Heron. Repeatedly, this graceful creature elegantly wandered into my frame, displaying an unmistakable desire to command the spotlight.
In response, I promptly adjusted my camera settings and repositioned myself, ready to engage with this avian star. Thus, "Hot Shot Heron" began, a captivating narrative of a feathered protagonist determined to leave an indelible mark on my visual canvas.
Santos "Sanzei" López is a fine art photographer for whom the camera is the culmination of a lifelong visual journey. His artistic practice was ignited in childhood with a simple 35mm film camera, a gift from his mother, who became his first subject and instilled in him the belief that photography could capture profound joy and connection.
This foundation evolved through decades of work as a graphic artist and graffiti writer, disciplines that permanently shaped his eye for composition, bold geometry, and layered texture.
